Brevis, Aster partner to bring ZK security and speed to DEXs

Brevis, Aster partner to bring ZK security and speed to DEXs

Zero-knowledge (ZK) verifiable computation platform Brevis has entered a strategic partnership with multi-chain decentralized exchange Aster to enhance the performance, security, and privacy of on-chain trading systems.

The collaboration aims to address one of the most persistent limitations in decentralized exchange design: balancing speed with trustlessness and privacy.

Brevis specializes in moving complex on-chain computations off-chain and validating them using zero-knowledge proofs. By performing heavy computation outside of the blockchain and then cryptographically verifying the result, Brevis significantly reduces gas costs while preserving verifiability. Under the new partnership, this infrastructure will be integrated into Aster, one of the fastest-growing spot and perpetual DEXs in the crypto ecosystem.

The companies said the goal is to solve long-standing structural tradeoffs in decentralized trading.

Today, fully on-chain execution ensures trustless operation but often compromises speed and provides no privacy. Conversely, off-chain execution or hybrid models increase performance but require trust in centralized components. This tension has prevented DEXs from delivering centralized-exchange-level performance without sacrificing decentralization.

Brevis’ ZK technology offers a new paradigm. According to the announcement, execution can occur at CEX-like speeds while cryptographic verification is finalized on-chain seconds later, ensuring both efficiency and trustlessness.

Additionally, the ZK layer can shield sensitive trader data, such as individual positions, without obscuring aggregate market transparency.

Both teams will explore ways to leverage verifiable computation to enhance user protection, improve liquidity dynamics, and build privacy-preserving mechanisms that do not compromise auditability.

The partners said they aim to create a trading experience that merges the usability of centralized platforms with the security guarantees of decentralized systems.

With decentralized trading expected to expand significantly, the introduction of ZK-verified computation could mark a major shift in DEX architecture. The partnership positions Brevis and Aster at the forefront of next-generation trading infrastructure, where speed, security, and privacy are no longer contradictory goals but integrated features.
