CMCC Global backs Sonic with $25M Resonance fund

CMCC Global backs Sonic with $25M Resonance fund

Sonic Labs reported a few hours ago that CMCC Global is set to launch Resonance, a $25 million Sonic ecosystem fund. Resonance is a venture fund dedicated to investing in breakout protocols and founders that are shaping the Sonic ecosystem.

It is worth noting that Sonic Labs is a blockchain technology company behind Sonic, a high-performance Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible Layer-1 blockchain designed primarily for decentralized finance and Web3 applications.

Web3 experts argue that venture capital and strategic investors are pouring into Sonic Labs due to its proven track record, cutting-edge performance addressing scalability bottlenecks in DeFi, and innovative economic models that align incentives for builders and users.

CMCC continued to pour into blockchain and Web3

CMCC Global has maintained and accelerated its blockchain investment in Asia through 2024 and 2025, defying broader market volatility in the cryptocurrency sector.

Despite a global funding slowdown following the FTX crash, the firm has deployed capital through its Titan Fund and new initiatives, focusing on the Hong Kong regulatory hub while targeting Southeast Asia and the broader APAC ecosystem.

CMCC’s dedication to Sonic looks to expand liquidity through strategic capital allocation. The investment strategy is built to capture value across the entire asset lifecycle, targeting early-stage allocation in emerging DeFi champions alongside strategic investment in liquid sonic assets.

Following this development, Mitchell Demeter, the CEO of Sonic Labs, said, “ We are thrilled that CMCC Global has chosen to launch Resonance. As one of the earliest and most successful crypto investors in the world, they have an enviable track record of consistently identifying and backing industry-leading teams and protocols. Resonance will make a significant and meaningful impact on present and future builders on Sonic, paving the way for the next generation of crypto innovators. Institutional capital is clearly waking up to the vast potential of Sonic.”
