Lookonchain said in its X post dated September 30, 2025, that an early whale that holds 5.07 million HYPE tokens has sold 4.99 million HYPE for $228.76 million. The whale sold HYPE at an average price of $45.82, booking a collective profit of $148.63 million.
It is reported that the whale bought 5.07 million HYPE 9 months ago at an average price of $16.23, and after selling 4.99 million tokens, the whale has 77,089 HYPE in balance valued at $3.3 million.
Market watcher LIQVIDATOR said selling almost the entire bag of HYPE shows market liquidity was strong enough to absorb the whale orders.
Early HYPE whales are selling to buy Aster and others
On September 24, 2025, Lookonchain said in an X post that an early whale holding over 2 million HYPE sold 201,900 HYPE and moved the funds from Hyperliquid to Aster.
Yet on September 26, it was reported that whale 0x8393 sold 249,999 HYPE for nearly $11 million to buy 7.92 million XRPL, similarly whale 0xcc07 deposited 6.27 million USDC into Hyperliquid to buy XPL.
Lookonchain said on September 21, 2025, that a whale, likely Techno Revenant, withdrew all 2.39 million HYPE; on-chain data shows that these tokens were bought 9 months ago.
On the same day, it was noted that Arthur Hayes just sold all 96,628 HYPE; he bought these tokens a month ago, making $823k.
With the recent surge in HYPE price, whales seem to be leveraging the opportunity, as it was reported on September 12 that whale 0x7dac sold 67,006 HYPE to book a profit.
The same whale bought 1.26 million HYPE for $9.51 million at $7.52 average and also received 22,270 HYPE at genesis. Then sold 385,513 tokens for $16.15 million.
