Galaxy Digital enters retail space with GalaxyOne app

Galaxy Digital, a firm long recognized for its institutional crypto services, has taken a significant step into the retail investment space with the introduction of GalaxyOne, a comprehensive trading and finance platform designed to bridge traditional and digital markets.

The newly launched app, available on both mobile and web, enables U.S. investors to trade more than 2,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs commission-free while offering direct access to leading cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana.

This dual-access model positions GalaxyOne as a contender against retail investing giants like Robinhood and Coinbase, which dominate the commission-free trading market.

A key feature of the platform is GalaxyOne Cash, a cash deposit product providing an attractive yield of around 4% APY on FDIC-insured deposits through a partnership with Cross River Bank.

Additionally, accredited investors can tap into a “Premium Yield” note offering up to 8% APY, though it remains outside FDIC protection. These features are part of Galaxy’s broader strategy to integrate savings, trading, and yield-generation within a single ecosystem.

Unlike many existing crypto platforms focused on speculative or high-frequency trading, Galaxy Digital is positioning GalaxyOne as a responsible investment hub, blending the stability of traditional finance with the innovation of digital assets.

The platform’s goal is to attract long-term investors seeking diversified exposure across markets.

The foundation for GalaxyOne was laid through Galaxy’s acquisition of fintech app Fierce for approximately $12.5 million earlier this year. Fierce’s infrastructure now serves as the technological backbone of the platform.

At launch, GalaxyOne supports fractional stock trading, crypto transfers, and plans to expand its digital asset suite in the coming months.

With this move, Galaxy Digital is signaling its ambition to challenge established retail platforms and redefine how mainstream investors engage with both crypto and traditional assets.
