IBM has launched IBM Digital Asset Haven, a comprehensive platform designed to help financial institutions, governments, and corporations securely manage and scale their digital asset operations.Â
The new solution provides an end-to-end framework, from custody and transactions to settlement, aimed at helping regulated entities meet compliance obligations while seamlessly integrating with existing systems.
Developed in collaboration with Dfns, a leading digital wallet infrastructure provider, the platform combines IBM’s enterprise-grade infrastructure and security expertise with Dfns’ advanced digital asset custody and management technology.
Dfns has already created over 15 million wallets for more than 250 clients, underscoring its track record in supporting compliance, performance, and security needs.
As adoption of tokenized assets and stablecoins accelerates, IBM is positioning Digital Asset Haven as a bridge between traditional finance and the emerging digital economy.Â
The platform offers native support for key residency controls, programmable multi-party approvals, and policy-driven governance frameworks, tools designed to help institutions modernize while maintaining regulatory oversight.
Among its core features is Transaction Lifecycle Management, enabling automated routing, monitoring, and settlement across more than 40 connected public and private blockchains.
Its Governance and Entitlement Management system provides a unified framework for wallet access, policy enforcement, and transaction approval, supported by configurable multi-party authorization workflows.
The platform also includes Integrated Third-Party Solutions for functions such as identity verification, anti-money laundering, and yield generation. Through developer-friendly APIs and SDKs, IBM aims to foster an ecosystem where partners can easily integrate additional services and accelerate innovation.
Security remains central to the design. Digital Asset Haven incorporates Multi-Party Computation (MPC) and Hardware Security Module (HSM)-based signing via IBM’s Crypto Express 8S HSMs.Â
It also integrates the IBM Offline Signing Orchestrator (OSO) for cold storage operations, meeting global regulatory standards while preparing for future quantum threats.
“With IBM Digital Asset Haven, our clients can confidently expand into the digital asset space backed by IBM’s renowned security and reliability,” said Tom McPherson, General Manager of IBM Z and LinuxONE.
Dfns CEO Clarisse Hagège added, “Together with IBM, we’ve built a platform that goes beyond custody to orchestrate the full digital asset ecosystem, paving the way for digital assets to move from pilot to production at global scale.”
