Ripple unveils Digital Asset Prime Services in the U.S

Ripple, the global financial technology company known for its blockchain-based payment solutions, has announced the launch of digital asset spot prime brokerage services for institutional clients in the United States.

The move marks Ripple’s latest expansion into institutional crypto trading infrastructure under its newly integrated entity, Ripple Prime.

The launch allows U.S.-based institutional investors to execute over-the-counter (OTC) spot transactions across a wide range of digital assets, including Ripple’s native cryptocurrency XRP and the company’s recently introduced RLUSD stablecoin.

This development is part of Ripple’s ongoing effort to broaden access to regulated digital asset services for financial institutions and corporate clients.

Ripple Prime’s new offering builds upon its October 2025 acquisition of Hidden Road, a multi-asset prime brokerage firm specializing in FX, digital assets, derivatives, swaps, and fixed income markets.

By integrating Hidden Road’s infrastructure and licenses, Ripple is providing a single point of access for institutions seeking to trade and manage a variety of traditional and digital assets.

“The launch of OTC spot execution capabilities complements our existing suite of OTC and cleared derivatives services in digital assets,” said Michael Higgins, International CEO of Ripple Prime. “It positions us to deliver a comprehensive offering tailored to the trading strategies and needs of U.S. institutions.”

The integration also enables Ripple Prime clients to cross-margin OTC spot transactions and holdings with other elements of their digital asset portfolio, including OTC swaps and CME futures and options, improving capital efficiency and risk management.

This milestone underscores Ripple’s strategic shift toward institutional digital asset infrastructure, a rapidly expanding segment of the crypto industry.

By combining regulatory compliance, liquidity access, and multi-asset functionality, Ripple aims to position itself as a leading partner for U.S. institutions navigating the convergence of traditional finance and blockchain-based markets.
